Wordify is a free, daily word-guessing game in the browser. You must guess a secret 5-letter word in a maximum of 6 attempts. After each attempt you receive color feedback: Green means the right letter in the right position, Yellow means the right letter in the wrong position, Gray means the letter is not in the word.
Wordify is free, playable without registration, and available in five languages: English, German, Spanish, French, and Italian.
Yes, completely free. There are no in-app purchases, no premium subscriptions, and no paywall behind any features. You don't need to create a user account or provide an email address. Just open the website and play.
No. Wordify requires no registration or sign-in. You play anonymously and without an account. Your game statistics are automatically saved locally in your browser – there's nothing to set up.
Wordify was developed by FrameSphere and is based on the gameplay of the famous Wordle game, invented in 2021 by Josh Wardle. Wordify is an independent evolution of the concept with multilingual support, a modern design, and additional features.
There is one daily puzzle that is the same for all players and can be played once per day. Additionally, you can play up to 15 more games per 12 hours in random mode. After 12 hours the limit resets.
This limit is designed to keep Wordify a conscious daily ritual rather than letting it become a time-consuming endless game.
Yes! Every day there is a new official daily puzzle that is identical for all players worldwide – whether you're playing in London, New York, or Sydney. The word changes every day at midnight. The daily puzzle can only be played once.
Wordify only accepts words that exist in its internal word list. If your word is rejected as "unknown," possible reasons include:
1. The word doesn't exist in standard English or is too rare.
2. The word doesn't have exactly 5 letters.
3. The word is a proper noun, abbreviation, or other non-regular word form.
4. Typo – check your input again.
In that case, choose a different common 5-letter word. You don't lose an attempt from a rejected input.
Congratulations – you've guessed the word! When all five letters glow green, you've correctly identified the target word. A win screen appears, you can share your result, and you'll see how many attempts you needed.
Yes, letters can appear more than once in the target word. For example, the word SLEEP has two E's. Wordify's color system evaluates each letter individually – a repeated letter can therefore appear green at one position and gray or yellow at another. This is an important aspect of the game that makes some puzzles particularly tricky.
Yes, Wordify is fully optimized for mobile devices. The grid and keyboard adapt automatically to your screen size. You can play Wordify on iPhones, Android smartphones, and tablets without any issues. No app download required – just open the website in your browser.
Tip: You can save Wordify as an "app" on your home screen via your browser's "Add to Home Screen" option.
Wordify works in all modern web browsers: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, Microsoft Edge, and Opera. Older browser versions (e.g. Internet Explorer) are not supported. For the best experience we recommend keeping your browser up to date.
Unfortunately yes. Wordify stores all game statistics locally in your browser's localStorage – exclusively on your device. If you switch browsers, change devices, clear your browser cache, or play in incognito mode, the saved data won't be available.
This is a deliberate privacy decision: your data is not stored on external servers. The trade-off is that cross-device sync is not possible.
Wordify requires an internet connection on first load to fetch all game resources. After the initial load, the game works largely without an active connection since word lists are loaded locally. The daily puzzle and some server features do require a connection however.
Wordify stores only game-related data locally in your browser (localStorage): your game statistics, the current game state, and your settings (e.g. Dark Mode). This data does not leave your device and is not transmitted to external servers.
Wordify uses Google AdSense for advertising, which means Google may set its own cookies. More details can be found in our Privacy Policy.
Wordify is free to play. To finance the operation of the website, advertisements are shown via Google AdSense. This advertising makes it possible to offer the game permanently and at no cost to players. We strive to place ads as unobtrusively as possible so the gaming experience isn't affected.
Wordify is currently available in five languages: English 🇬🇧, German 🇩🇪, Spanish 🇪🇸, French 🇫🇷, and Italian 🇮🇹. You can switch languages at any time via the dropdown menu in the top right of the game. Each language has its own word lists and its own statistics.
The word lists for Wordify were carefully compiled from commonly used words in each language. The basis is frequency lists from everyday language use. Very rare technical terms, proper nouns, and archaic words were deliberately excluded to ensure a fair and solvable experience.
The daily word is automatically selected from this word list and is identical for all players worldwide.
Word lists are reviewed and updated regularly. If you've found a word you think is incorrect or unusual, we welcome your feedback. You can get in touch via the imprint section. We continuously improve the word lists based on player feedback.
No. The daily word is always a regular English word – not a proper noun, abbreviation, or acronym. It can be a noun, a conjugated verb form, or an adjective. Compound words may appear as long as they are common in everyday language.
